The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, April 8, 2010 on “China’s Green Energy and Environmental Polices.” The hearing will begin at 9:00 am in Room 562 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building, located at First Street and Constitution Avenue, NE, Washington DC, 20510.

The April 8 hearing will examine China’s domestic and international clean energy policies and the potential for cooperation between the United States and China on climate change and clean energy technologies.

Scheduled to testify on April 8 are the Honorable David Sandalow, Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy; Dr. Jennifer L. Turner, Director of the China Environment Forum at the Woodrow Wilson Center; Dr. Stephen A. Hammer, Executive Director of the Energy Smart Cities Initiative at the Joint US-China Collaboration on Clean Energy; Mr. Thomas R. Howell, Partner at Dewey and LeBoeuf LLP;  Dr. Elizabeth Economy, Director of Asia Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations; Ms. Angel Hsu, Doctoral Student at Yale University; Mr. Rob Bradley, Director of International Climate Policy at the World Resources Institute; Mr. L. Cartan Sumner, Jr., Vice President of International Government Relations at Peabody Energy; and Mr. Dennis Bracy, CEO of the U.S.-China Clean Energy Forum. A copy of the complete hearing agenda is attached at the end of this press announcement.
