DDL director Dr. Angel Hsu has been appointed to serve a 2-year term on the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on the Future of Clean Air.

The network of Global Future Councils was created to convene experts from academia, nonprofits, government, and the private sector to engage in productive discussions about how to engage various stakeholders in solving our time’s most pressing issues.

Recent studies shows that roughly 97.3% of the global population breathes unsafe air, taking more than 2 years off of global average life expectancy. The Council on the Future of Clean Air was convened to address this, and currently includes 19 members from business, government, academia, and civil society.

Bringing together global experts with diverse backgrounds, the Council engages in productive conversations about how we can engage businesses, governments, and citizens to raise global political attention to tackle air pollution and improve global air quality. They met earlier this week in Dubai to discuss how to improve global air quality through increasing citizen cross-sectoral engagement.

We are so proud of Angel, and can’t wait to see her impact through this new and exciting role!
